Passed away peacefully at his home on Weslemkoon Lake, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 10, 2016. Bill is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years Mary (Cooney), daughters Kayla Maquire (Morgan) of Alberta, Denise Mercier (Al) of Gunter and his grandchildren Alexandra (Daymien), Jesse and Nikki. He will also be missed by his dog Bruno who was his constant companion. Son of the late Alexander and Veral (Grant) Gunter. Brother of Dorothy Noppert (Otto), Linda Dafoe (Reg), Shirley Gunter and the late Mattie Smith (Bill). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and was loved by all. Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium. A celebration of Bill’s life will take place at the family home in the summer of 2016. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Quinte Health Care Kidney Dialysis Unit would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth.
