Passed away peacefully, at Thessalon Hospital, on Monday, January 11, 2016. Cecil Burke, age 85, was the beloved husband of the late Lillian (March 2, 2014). Dear step-father of Stewart Tripp (Linda), Marion Haner (Bill) and the late Stephen Tripp (Kathy). Step-grandfather of Allen, Cathy, Cheryl, Mark, Stefan, Matthew, Sarah and great step-grandfather of 11. Beloved brother of Eugene, Helen (deceased), Eileen (deceased), Joyce, Ralph (deceased), Charles and Dennis. Survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Cecil was well known in Bancroft. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and Bancroft 580 Seniors Club. Cecil and Lillian also enjoyed their second home in Florida for the winters. Cecil’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy (96 Bridge Street W, Bancroft) on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 between 2:30 and 3:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Patrick M. Dobec presiding. Interment parish cemetery in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Algoma Manor Charitable Association, Hospice North Hastings or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
