Peacefully, at his home on Baptiste Lake, on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Edwin Betson, age 89, was the beloved husband for 61 years of Norma (Coxworth) Betson. Loved father of daughters Cheryl (Byron) and Dale, and his son Steven (Catherine). Loved grandfather of Jesse, Michael (Janna), Benita (Gavin), Jazzel (Chris), Kendra, Taryn and Riley. Great-grandfather of Leland and Sailee. Long-time friend of Derwyn Highfield. Edwin was born in Toronto September 13, 1924. He farmed in the Pickering/Whitby (Audley Community) for 40 years, and retired to Bancroft and Baptiste Lake in 1978. Hedwin enjoyed his family, flying and building. Norma and the children would like to thank all Ed’s caregivers from Peterborough Hospital and Bancroft Hospital as well as Red cross and all staff at the C.C.A.C. You were all wonderful to him!!A Graveside service will take place at Elmwood Cemetery (6150 Hwy#7, Markham, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Maynooth and Area Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
