Peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 24, 2014. Donald Scott, age 81 of Maynooth, was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Hinze) Scott. Loving father of Wayne Scott (Marie) of Barry’s Bay, Joan Nieman (Ray) of Maynooth, Marie Mayhew (Denver) of Maple Leaf, Kenny Scott (Karen) of Maynooth, and Dale Scott (Natalie) of Chestermere, Alberta. Loved grandfather of Brittany, Meredith, Heidi, Trisha, Ashley, Jenna, Eric, Krista, Kendra, Jessica and Kelsey. Survived by seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Irma Horsley of Trenton, Clare Begg of Trenton, Lizzie Watt of Maynooth, Cecil Scott of Maynooth, Helen Smith of Brighton and Harry Scott of Sabine. Brother-in-law of Orval Hinze, Audrey Shannick, Lorne Hinze, Shirley Scott, Gordon Hinze and Allen Hinze. Predeceased by his parents James and Margaret (Roy) Scott, his brothers Kinley, Fred, Tommy, and by his sister Bernice Postma, and by his brother-in-law Iner Hinze. Donald’s family will receive relatives and friends at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Road, Maynooth on Wednesday evening 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle (311 Hastings St. N., Bancroft) on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with The Rev. Darlene Cunliffe officiating. Interment, Grace Memorial Cemetery, Maynooth, in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice North Hastings, or St. Andrew’s Bethel United Church, Maynooth, would be appreciated by the family.
