September 12, 1940 – April 26, 2024 Peacefully, at Quinte Healthcare Belleville General, on Friday, April 26, 2024, with family by his side. Percy Behnke, age 83, was the beloved husband of Marlene (Bruce). Cherished father of Joanne (John) Potts of Bancroft, Dianne (Dwayne) Mountney of Cardiff, Luanne Florent of Cardiff, and Suanne Behnke of Cardiff. Dear grandfather of Amanda, Sarah (Isaac), Ashley (Jamie), Jenna (Bryce) and Tyler. Predeceased by his wife Marlene, daughter Leanne, his parents David and Erda Behnke (Weland), his sister Doreen (Garfield Fleguel) and brothers Edwin and Kenny. Brother of Lois, Raymond (Jean), Howard, Barbara Ann (Bill Burgess), Calvin, Gary (Wilma) and Deanna (Laurie Vernick). He will be deeply missed by his family and fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Percy was born and raised in Hardwood Lake. He worked in the logging industry for many years and later owned his own business Percy Behnke Logging. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish, hunt, snowmobile, and ATV. His lapdog Dixie was a huge comfort for Percy in his later years and she will miss him greatly. At Percy’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place with interment at Hermon Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Community Care Haliburton would be appreciated by the family.
