Suddenly at the Kingston Regional Health Center Hospital on Friday, February 23, 2024. Lois Yvonne Poff was the beloved wife of the late Carman Poff (2018). Loved mother of Derrick (Tracey Hasper) of Oshawa and Pamela Lawson (Donny) of Bancroft. Grandmother of Cecilia Vardon (Mike), Crystal Tilk (Dustin), Lisa Poff (Jessie Adams), Kyla Lawson, Robert Brant and Billy Lawson (Milla McCagherty). Great-Grandmother of Deacon Tilk, Devon Tilk, Emily Brant, Jace Carter and Michael Jonathan Vardon. Lois was predeceased by her daughter Patricia Brant (2014). Daughter of Hezekiah and Myrtle Sears of Bancroft. Sister of Sharon Rae of Peterborough, Delores Wilson of Bancroft, the late Joan Fransky, the late Geraldine Creighton, and the late Dwight Sears. Lois was very close with the Poff family and will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was deeply committed to her family, friends, and community. Known as everyone’s number one cheerleader, Lois brought unconditional love and joy to all who knew her. Her leadership as former President of the Fish and Game Club exemplified her passion and dedication for the Bancroft community. Lois enjoyed getting out in the community by being a part of the agricultural society, line dancing, and local choir. She also took pride in her exceptional gardening skills by sharing her seasonal bounty with her family and friends. Lois was never shy to share her opinion, which was always proven right. Her genuine interest in others made her a beloved figure in everyone’s lives. Lois’ presence was always a source of comfort and strength. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Canadian Cancer Society Volunteer Drivers would be appreciated by the family.
