(Veteran of World War II) At the Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital, Bancroft, on Thursday, February 12, 2009. Leonard Frantz, age 85, was the beloved husband of Eileen (Smith) Frantz. Loved father of Terence Frantz of Belleville, Sharon Luckasavitch of Newcastle, and Derrick Frantz of Marmora. Loved grandfather of Martin, Shannon, Angie, Jenny, Bradley, Jason, Robin, Christy, Dana and Lori. Great-grandfather of Britney, Logan, Lauren, Taylor, Kara, Kayla, Kelsey, Darnell, Wyatt, Destiny, Steven, Matthew, Allison and Amelia. Predeceased by his granddaughter Kimberly-Ann. Survived by his brother Wesley Frantz and many nieces, nephews and friends. Leonard was a Veteran of World War II, and was wounded in Sicily. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, 1939-1945 Star, and the Italy Star. Leonard’s family will receive relatives and friends at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Rd., Maynooth) on Sunday 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Service for Leonard will take place at Christ Lutheran Church (Hwy 62N, Maynooth) on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with The Rev. Carey Meadows officiating. Interment at Christ Lutheran Cemetery, in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
